Jake Dennis qualified fifth for the first of the European Formula 3 races at Nurburgring tomorrow morning.

The RSF-backed Prema driver posted a best time of 1m 21.483s which left him 0.357s shy of points-leader and pole-winner Felix Rosenqvist.

The Swede will share the front row with Carlin rookie George Russell while main title rivals Charles Leclerc and Antonio Giovinazzi will line up sixth and seventh on the grid.

Fellow Prema driver Nick Cassidy qualified third. The Kiwi will be joined on the second row by Carlin's Callum Ilott.
